On September 25, 2012 John Alan Brooks was sentenced to 28 years in an English prison for conspiracy to import large quantities of drugs into the United Kingdom. This final conviction was the result of an attempt to import 1.5 tons of cocaine valued at over 200 million pounds, British sterling.

Alan Brooks (known as A.B.) and I have been friends from our teenage years, growing up together in Blackpool, England. This true story will take you from our early times when A.B. worked for his father as a coal merchant, to A.B.’s final arrest in 2011 and final conviction. You will read about his many notorious drug smuggling operations around the world when he was known as the Go-To Guy, moving large quantities of drugs for some of the world’s biggest drug lords.

Following A.B. from his mid-20's when he chose a life as a career criminal living in a luxury villa in Marbella, Spain, to his later arrests and a James Bond-type escape from a Moroccan prison that is nothing short of a scene from a Hollywood movie, this story will keep you on the edge of your seat. You will learn how his multi-million-dollar financial empire was built and how it ended in 2012 with a 28-year prison sentence (with another 13-year sentence awaiting him in France). You will see over 40+ years of period time correct personal photos, shown for the first time. Unless the courts grant him leniency in his senior years, A.B. will most likely die in prison. He is still my friend although I disliked what he did for a living. The contents of this book are being shared for the first time, and all facts were verbally communicated to me over a 40+ year period from the late 1960's.

Although I took a very different (honest) business path in my life, A.B. shared his life experiences with me and I told no one. Visiting me many,many times at my home in Palm Springs, California, we kept our childhood friendship alive, as he shared the tales of his wild, wild life.

The total proceeds from this book will be donated to the treatment of drug addiction and education to help curb the demand for the drugs that ruin so many lives.
